About Eric

Eric Engler is a Boston-based audio engineer and musician.  Hailing from Chicago, he spent his childhood in the suburbs of the Windy City and his high school years in the Los Angeles area before moving to Baltimore to study in the Peabody Conservatory’s highly successful Recording Arts program.  Since graduating from Peabody, he now lives in Boston.

Always eager to learn, Eric possesses a broad array of professional skills.  As an audio engineer, he is at home in a wide variety of technical environments and has extensive experience in studio recording, live concert recording, live sound reinforcement, and radio production. He has worked for several nationally recognized organizations including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and National Public Radio.

As a musician, Eric is primarily a trumpet player.  He earned his Bachelors in Jazz Trumpet Performance from Peabody in 2018 and spent his college years studying jazz with acclaimed trumpeters Alex Norris and Sean Jones.  Known for his warm, rich tone and nuanced musicality, Eric is comfortable playing a diverse array of musical styles and plays frequent freelance gigs.  He is also an avid pianist and composer, having played piano since the age of five and developed his composing and arranging skills over the course of his musical career.

Having graduated from Peabody with his Masters in May 2019, Eric now works as a staff audio engineer at New England Conservatory in addition to freelance work. Looking ahead, he is very excited to see what the future holds and would like to thank his family, friends, teachers, and colleagues for their gracious and unwavering support.
